Overview
A hands-on job-search workshop using previous employment and military experience to build a focused application and interview approach. The standalone brochure lists 42 hours.
Four lesson areas
- Employment-focused assessment: background, knowledge, skills, abilities, gaps in work history, an individual employment plan, and job readiness.
- Marketing yourself: transferable skills, communication, strengths, confidence, salary expectations, and tailoring an achievement-based résumé.
- Cover letters: introduction, six approaches to the body of the letter, and a closing matched to the résumé and job.
- The interview: employer research, telephone preparation, dress, first impressions, mock interviews, difficult questions, questions for the employer, evaluation, and follow-up.
Participation and delivery
The brochure describes in-person, webinar, telephone, and one-to-one coaching with hands-on assignments and review materials. It lists attendance of at least 85%, completion of projects, participation, and demonstrated skills. Two free repeat sessions are described for eligible participants; confirm the current conditions.
